Part Time Town Clerk
This position is part time, 20 hours per week, 10 am through 2 pm (flexible), Monday through Friday. The candidate will perform administrative and clerical duties assisting the Town Clerk, the general public, and officials of the town. In addition, the employee must be able to pass a background investigation and have the ability to be bonded by the town.
The Town is looking for a candidate that has experience in an office environment, handling money and be knowledgeable in MS Office, Quick Books and NexGen.
Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.

High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred or a minimum of one to two years of experience in office operations/ municipal government; or any combination of education and experience; working knowledge of MS Office, Quick Books and NexGen software a plus.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Project a positive image of the Town and be able to perform duties amid constant interruptions during the day.
- Must be dependable, be able to work independently and take direction as needed.
- Operate a computer, calculator, telephone, copier, facsimile machine, and other standard office equipment.
- Receive complaints and respond to complaints appropriately; makes referrals as appropriate.
- Process payroll, including submission of retirement contributions, and employee leave.
- Manage Town website.
- Collect/submit business license applications.
- Accepts Water Bill payments, answers any billing inquiries, makes payment adjustments or corrections, submits reports and taxes monthly.
- General sorting, filing and processing paperwork including correspondence, invoices, receipts and other records.
- Make regular contact with the public, town departments, boards and committees, Municipal Clerks from other towns, and state governmental officials. Contacts are by phone, correspondence, in person, and requires ability to interact with the public assisting in resolution of various matters regarding operations of the town.
- Assists Town Clerk, Police Chief, and Town Administrator in performance of clerical and administrative duties.
- Assists Court Clerk in managing required activities of the Municipal Court and local elections.
- The part time Town Clerk functions as the Town Clerk in her absence.
